System Engineer

$2,500 – $3,500, Full-Time / Contract

Notes:

• Applicant must already be authorised to live and work in Singapore

– This position is only partially remote, and only available for long-term applicants living and working in Singapore.

Job Description:

– Managing all aspects of cloud infrastructure, both server and network infrastructure.

– Providing 24×7 technical support to customers via support ticketing system.

– Performing both Linux and Windows system administration tasks.

– Installation of servers, OS and cloud platform (e.g. hypervisor, storage) for new projects and expansion.

– Regular maintenance of existing infrastructure, including OS patching, platform upgrade, storage maintenance.

– Installation and creation of OS templates and application frameworks.

– Deploying hardware and performing professional services for customers (both on-premise and cloud).

Required skill-sets:

– Linux system administration skills: Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, etc

– Windows system administration skills: Windows 2019, 2016, 2012 R2

– Basic networking and TCP/IP skills: Cisco routers and switches

Good-to-have skill-sets:

– Cloud virtualization / hypervisor technologies: VMWare, KVM, HyperV, etc.

– Software-defined storage technologies: Ceph, ZFS, NFS, etc

– Cloud orchestrator platform: CloudStack, OpenStack, Proxmox

– Linux application frameworks such as LAMP stack, CMS (e.g. WordPress), hosting control panel (e.g. cPanel, DirectAdmin)

– Basic Linux programming skills will be an advantage

Other requirements:

– On 24×7 phone standby and be ready to be deployed after office hours

– Ability to work on a fast-paced environment

– Ability to work on tight deadlines and under pressure

– Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and be able to work independently

– Must be physically in Singapore, this is not a remote position; must hold existing documentation to work in Singapore, as none will be applied for this position.

Salary: $2,500.00 – $3,500.00 per month
