Get to know the Role:

  • Serve as a key member of the Grab Group Business Development team to develop commercial strategy for the assigned overall portfolio/ industry sector(s) via strategic partnerships
  • Take the lead to define key segments to target, drive projects/deals end-to-end from commercial negotiation to closure, to project management and execution and maintain key relationships at senior levels of large corporate institutions.
  • Drive and create new partnerships as well as harvest existing partnerships to accelerate growth for Grab overall, specific to the assigned portfolio(s)/ industries by working closely with multiple internal regional and local business and product/ ops/ engineering teams.
  • Co-create business development plan and roadmap and ensure that this is aligned with overall Grab’s strategic direction.
  • Support various group business development initiatives to ensure it meets company’s objectives.

The day-to-day activities:

  • Serve as a key team member to define opportunities in the current landscape, strategize, structure and execute OneGrab (Enterprise-wide) strategic regional partnerships with tier 1 global/ regional partners across SEA.
  • Execute Grab’s strategic partnership priorities with and across multiple GrabVerticals (Mobility, Deliveries (GrabFood/ Mart/ Express), Fintech (GrabPay, GrabRewards, Lending, etc) B2B enterprise teams (GrabAds, GrabForBusiness) , business and product teams (P&L owners, marketing teams, procurement, legal, finance, country business development team etc.) across Grab’s operating markets
  • Actively identify and effectively engage prospects/partners in assigned portfolios/ industries by effectively developing and communicating a clear Grab value proposition specific to the partner’s business and use case to derive with a win-win regional partnership with the partner(s)
  • Leverage personal networks and generate new leads as required to identify opportunities to improve and iterate on user/driver/partner-centric initiatives to improve the overall experience and drive revenue.
  • Own the development and execution of all business development initiatives, ensuring proper planning and on time, on target execution.
  • Prepare and deliver regular business reviews to Grab management on progress, roadblocks and solutions to increase the customer adoption (users/drivers/partner).
  • Track and analyze KPIs related to all initiatives and quickly build counter measures closely working with cross functional and cross country teams.
  • Develop, maintain and leverage senior relationships across SE Asia.
  • Develop customer centric (users/drivers/partner) initiatives by representing the voice of the customer in all initiatives with the aim of improving lives.
  • Ensure all initiatives meet strategic and financial objectives of Grab.
  • Support to build and maintain a high performing team with a best in class team culture.
  • Proactively work with multiple Grab’s commercial teams and within regional business development teams to craft and share best practices, efficiently using common resources.
  • Continuously assist in the development of an arsenal of core tools and capabilities to enable all business development teams.

The must haves:

  • Minimum 6 – 8 years of relevant experience, regional strategic partnerships experience required.
  • Proven ability to blend business, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted, win-win deals.
  • Be extremely organized, and bring a high level of attention to detail and efficiency while working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Seasoned professional with experience establishing, maintaining and leveraging C-level relationships across SE Asia.
  • Demonstrate strong track record in project management, and managing internal/external stakeholders locally and regionally.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills a must.
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively.
  • Strong code of ethics and sound business judgment required.
  • Strong in Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Relevant BA/BS/BEng degree

The good to haves:

  • MBA from a top-ranked university is highly preferred.
  • Regional language proficiency plus (e.g. Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, Vietnamese, Tagalog).
