Project Officer (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) Jobs

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

The Project Officer’s work scope will be to work on a project to conduct the engineering design and further development of the modular cobot combination-coupling and decoupling device for the mobile cobots.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of effective and efficient prototype for the aforementioned (Electrical/Electronics modules)

• Development of power management circuitry (BMS) for power and signal transfer during coupling-decoupling operation.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyse and solve complex issues related to the aforementioned.

• Any job assigned by PI related to the aforementioned project.

• Work is related to development and demonstration of a prototype for Mobile robot combination coupling and decoupling device

• Conduct the engineering design to manufacture working prototype of the device

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in electrical/Electronics, mechanical or mechatronics engineering

• 1-year experience in related area of cobot or related technologies

• Familiar with control systems of cobot and robotic systems

• Knowledge in selection, sourcing and use of mechatronics components in interfacing circuit design

• Experienced in prototyping electronics and electrical engineering

• Working knowledge of software (Python, C++, Matlab or similar)

• Practical and hands-on, active self-learner and able to pay close attention to details

• Proficiency in English and verbal communication, have strong work ethic and can work independently and comfortably in a multidisciplinary environment

• Familiar with working in ROS (Robot Operating System)

• Integration and monitoring of power and signal transfer during coupling/decoupling operation

• Exceptional prototyping and problem solving skills.

• Capable of working independently and within a team, while supervising other Final year students working on their final year projects on related area.

• Can communicate and present technically complex issues to multidisciplinary/multinational teams
