Retail manager

Job purpose

Ensure that the assigned retail stores are efficiently operated to maximize sales and profitability, Lead and manage teams to drive growth of brands under your portfolio


  • To be responsible for Sales and Profitability of brands assigned
  • Implement action plans required to achieve targets

HR, Staff management and training

  • Responsible for recruiting and developing frontline staff
  • Training and ensuring staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills required
  • Review and address retail staff performance issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure staff compliance with company SOPs
  • Work closely with store in-charge and sales assistant to resolve internal and customer conflicts
  • Supervise, coach and motivate Supervisors and Retail Executives to work towards common objectives


  • Work with brand manager on promotional calendar and contribute ideas based on business needs
  • Participate and feedback on the effectiveness of store activities and brand events


  • Monthly reporting on gelato production to be cost efficient and avoid stock loss
  • Ensure all equipment are in good condition and advise if any maintenance has to be performed
  • Ensure stock level in stores is sufficient to perform good sales
  • Control replenishment and delivery schedule
  • Ensure stores are following the brand guidelines
  • Ensure stores are well merchandised
  • Ensure stores and warehouse are in tip-top condition

Inventory control

  • Ensure stock control policies are followed diligently to control stock loss
  • Work closely with brand manager to review sell thru, discounts and to provide feedback on category performance
  • Work closely with brand manager to manage stock position
  • Forecast quantities that need to be purchased from HQ to maintain healthy stock on hand
  • Ensure FIFO on stock in warehouse and in stores

Customer Service

  • Provide support and training to staff in handling customer complaints
  • Any other ad-hoc matters that affect operation efficient or duties as requested by the company


  • To undertake other/ ad-hoc projects as assigned
